Channeling Art Workshop
Number of Sessions: 4
Class Length: 3HRS per session
Tuition: $125 / student

The Channeling Art workshop aims to help students connect with and record personal journeys by discovering and exploring their unique visual language and telling their own story through the use of symbolism. Students will be guided through the process of unearthing their creative self; develop and demonstrate the ability to express their visual / aesthetic sense of design and use color, texture, images and symbolism. Experimentation with medium, including painting, collage and found objects allow students to play with and investigate a variety of approaches to manifesting their art and revealing their true voice.

INTRODUCTORY COURSE

This workshop orients students in the "Channeling Art" process by actively seeking out and incorporating personal and shared cultural symbolism to help tell a visual story. Students will use a variety of media and techniques to create three works of art simaltaneously. Includes constructive peer-to-peer critique.

(February 2013), Women's Herstory Month (March 2013) and Juneteenth (June 19)
as well as for Haitian Independence (observed January 1; classes may occur
throughout the month) and Haitian Flag Day (May 18), contact the studio.

These workshops are NOT booked by another organization but are organized and
managed by Art Lives Studio at varying locations and may include special offers.

NOTES: Students will receive advanced notice regarding any changes in scheduled dates
via the student e-bulletin mailing list.

*Cancellation Policy: Cancellations for "studio sponsored" workshops are accepted one week prior to start of first session for a full refund. Otherwise, a credit will be set aside for use toward future classes or purchasing artwork via artlives.net.
