statement
"Fantasma" combines the use of photography, comic-oriented line work and a newfound passion for acrylics & brushstrokes. Each painting in this newest series has been constructed with recycled & found items, using models of Hispanic or Island heritage as the initial muse. Through the combination of color and movement, this new series emits depth and emotion though each completed work.
about the artist
Optimism Photography (a.k.a optphoto) is the pseudonym for the artistic visual works of Adam Ramirez. In 1999, Adam first picked up a camera to help incorporate realistic imagery into his then budding graphic design portfolio. He has since continued to merge traditional and digital forms of media to create stunning new works, and make a name for himself in the underground art scene. Ramirez produces from the inside out, feeding off everyday emotions, nostalgia, and much more. Continually inspired by everything around him, he is truly self-driven and aspires to continue to succeed in the visual art field.
In addition to photography, Adam keeps busy with sketching, making music, writing, and exploring the combinations of different forms of expression.
